Invisalign is a treatment we offer at Hanham Dental as a great alternative to traditional fixed braces. They are discreet and results can often be achieved in a reduced time. Invisalign braces are clear, removable aligners, which help move your teeth into a straighter, better position through gentle movement.

With Invisalign, the teeth are straightened when you wear a transparent plastic aligner over your teeth which gives more confidence in wearing them and not making it obvious that you are having your teeth straightened. These custom-made aligners gradually move the teeth to the desired position, eventually straightening them. The aligners are worn all day and can be easily cleaned because they are removable, teeth can also be cleaned properly because there is no obstruction. The added advantage of removing the aligner when eating is there is no worry about anything getting stuck in the apparatus or breaking it. A series of aligners are given which are changed every two weeks, and another set of aligners are given after about eight weeks. Each of the aligners are designed with a slightly different alignment so that it puts gentle pressure on the teeth and moves them.

Because they are removable, they make eating and keeping your teeth and brace clean extremely easy – they just need to be worn for a minimum of 22 hours a day.
